Most Overrated Teams in the NFL

Every year ESPN and NFL analyst always talks about the up and coming teams. Let´s face it though, there are many of the teams out there that are always rated extremely high that either actually live up to the hype or disappoint disastrously. Here I will discuss who I believe is overrated this year and why:

new-england-patriots-players-automatically-imported-new-england-patriots-vs-ny-jets-pat-plyrs-auto-00048smd.jpg (196×245)New England Patriots-Sure the main reason for this years media attention is Aaron Hernandez, but this team is always mentioned to win the super bowl for the past decade. This year is different though because Tom Brady is getting older and Bill Belichick time in the NFL is working against him as teams get to see more film on how he likes to game plan. Worst of all, Brady on offense is losing all his targets(arrest, injury, age) and the defense is not in top shape. To say they are in the top 10 of NFL teams currently would be overrated. Who knows, they may prove this article wrong though because Belichick still can turn glass to gold...for now.

Miami Dolphins- Anyone remember the Eagles dream team? This is the 2013-2014 version of them. Grabbing top end free agents does not make you a super bowl contender. This team will do well I think, but I do not think they will win the super bowl either. I see them as a first round playoff contender, but nothing more than that. Also, Dion Jordan is expected to be the new Jason Taylor, which in NFL history would normally mean he is about to disappoint.

Chicago Bears-First of all, before this goes on any further, Jay Cutler is not an elite quarterback. How many playoffs wins has he had in his career? Better yet, how many times has his team gone to the playoffs? Yes new head coach Marc Trestman might bring some excitement to this offense, but lets not forget this is a severely aging team defensively that just lost its main leader in Brian Urlacher. Even so, the Bears are on the list of being one of the exciting teams next year for many media outlets. I am not buying it though until I see it.

Denver Broncos- I personally think Payton Manning is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history...in the regular season. The problem the Broncos have is the same that the Colts had in Manning´s time. Amazing pass attack, not so great run attack. Also, Manning struggles in the post-season for reasons I simply do not understand. Champ Bailey looked much slower last year in the playoffs and that will only carry into next season. Worst, they are being labeled as the team to beat, which means teams will play at their top level against them. For all the super bowl chatter, I think we will see another team sneak in to steal the Lombardi Trophy(did anyone really suspect that the Giants or Ravens would have won it all entering there playoff births in recent years?).

Ryan+Mathews+Tennessee+Titans+v+San+Diego+N7EuyfikfUql.jpg (594×426)San Diego Chargers- Manti Te´o has taken local and national spotlight and everyone seems to be thinking this is Phillip Rivers chance to comeback to original form. However, the offensive line is average at best and Ryan Mathews will likely manage to miss at least 5 games. Poor run attack+ a below average offensive line = sacks = turnovers = tough season. Also, the secondary/defensive tackle position are questionable as well. Add in that you have a new coach(unless he is Jim Harbaugh-like) and there is no way this team is a playoff contender, even for the wild card spot. Could surprise me though if Mike McCoy ends up being a mastermind for the Chargers.
